Yoga therapy (how to use yoga practice for a disease?) is going to be very famous all over the world, in yoga therapy we learn that how to use yoga practices (asana, pranayama,mudra,bandha meditation) for a disease. The process of yoga therapy is based on selecting sequencing of yoga technique. According to the Patanjali Vyadhi (disease) is an obstacle of yoga it means if someone have a disease they should practice yoga for disease then for spirituality.
In yoga therapy we talk about a disease and there causes then we select yoga practice for that disease. Now days we have a lot type of yoga and sometime it's very hard to decide that which one is the right yoga practice for us ? We are living in very materialistic world and we having lots of problem and yoga therapy is the best option we have that can reduce our problems.
In yoga therapy one thing is very clear that we only can cure a disease through traditional yoga practice and trough some variation of traditional yoga other wise through modern yoga its not possible. Modern yoga is good to practice (Astanga,vinyasa,iyenger,power) but for these type of yoga practices we should prepare our body without preparation its hard to practice.

Six Cleansing Procedures in order of priority according to scripture:
These practices should be early morning on empty stomach
Washing. Mainly there are three process are important to use for therapy
1. Vaman (vomiting)
3. Sankhprakchalana (intestinal cleaning)
Kapalbhati - Shiny head breath
There are three types:-
2.Vyutkarm (Opposite – taking water through nose and taking out of mouth)
3.Sheetharm (drink water through mouth and out the nose)
Enema. Unlike the medical one, it is air enema or water enema.
Nasal and sinus cleaning. Water neti, or thread neti.
Moving belly (Vam nauli,Dam nauli,Bharamar nauli)
You only can give good treatment through traditional yoga not the modern ones. Use traditional, hatha yoga asanas. Use traditional name and positions.
Breathing techniques, but not exercises. Exercises are preparation for pranayama.
Nine traditional names of pranayama (in ideal order):-
Nadi Sodhan (Energy channel cleaning breath)
Alternate nostril breathing, balancing breath. Analomvellum (sp) is similar but with retention, should not be used for therapy (the withholding). If you practice for five minutes it has good effects. 5 – 10 good for internal . 15 – 20 good for for systems, etc. 30+ good for every cell in your body. Except when having a cold, don't use.
Fire breath or making the throat sound.
Bharastrika -Forceful breath
One is silent and one is dynamic. The dynamic is preparation for pranayama not a pranayama.
Surya Bhedi (Sun piercing breath)
Right nostril piercing breathing
Two techniques for Beginners, Inhale right exhale right. For practitioners Inhale right, exhale left.
Chandra Bhedi (moon piercing breath)
Left nostril breathing
As above but opposite
Cooling breath using tongue positioning.
Cooling breath using teeth positioning
Honey-bee sound breath. Otherwise known as hummingbird breath. Buzzing sound breath.
Always at the end – just like Savasana.
Always Kapalabhati first. And never suggest only Kapalbhati, because kapalabhati is energy wasting Kryia because we do only exhale during this breath. Use other practices to balance your breath after kapalabhati.
Gesture:- Movement of our hands, face, bodies that express feeling to others.
Primary ones: in yoga therapy most of the time we use mostly these mudras.
Prana mudra: thumb, index and ring finger together.
Hridadaya Mudra: bend index in and touch thumb to third and fourth finger and fifth is out.
Ashwami Mudra: (horse power): Contracting and relaxing anus to get the power of the horse.
Agni Mudra: Fire – interlock fingers with thumbs above and fingers pointing in. Activates fire.
Vipreetkarni Mudra: Body gesture – Similar to shoulder stand but more of a bent curve.
Bandha is practising with retention.
First and third can be done with external and internal retention.
Second bandha is external retention only.
Mulabandha: Root lock. Contract anus.
Uddiyanbandha: Belly lock. Stomach lock or naval lock.
Jalandharbandha: Neck lock, chin lock throat lock.
Many techniques of meditation. Chakra meditation, silent meditation, walking meditation, transcendental meditation, etc.
All will be split between active meditation and silent meditation.

Three basic rules for learning.
Listening – listen properly, if you do not listen you will never clear your doubts and a good listener always a good speaker.
Learn Correctly – whatever you are learning, learn correctly we have many source of learning we should use them.
Application – before applying yoga practices on others apply on yourself first feel it then make others feel. Learn the contra indications before learning the effect of yoga practice because if you know the contra indication you can avoid the problem and you can apply yoga very well.
Two other rules are very important for yoga therapy.
Be positive: when teaching and treating people yoga teacher or a therapist should be very positive. They should have Less ego. If not, no one will feel good with you. If you have ego, it is not a good quality of a teacher or a therapist.
Learn patience: some diseases take a long time to fix, so you need patience. Treatments work deeply so may not work quickly. All pains are not the same and neither are all diseases. You must accept them or you should have a lot amount of patience.
